What is The Carrisa?

The Carrisa is more than a venue – it’s an experience. open late with flexible indoor and outdoor creekside spaces. available for weddings, receptions, afterparties, corporate events and more.

The namesake Carrisa building was constructed in 1905 in the heart of San Luis Obispo’s bustling Higuera Street. It’s historic brick walls and timeless interior serves as the perfect setting for all gatherings.

Do I need to book a tour to see the venue?

What is the guest capacity at The Carrisa?

The Carrisa can comfortably accommodate approximately 300 guests for a seated meal or 400 guests standing. Every event is unique and there is so much opportunity to be creative with floorplans and layouts- let’s talk about your event’s needs and how we can make magic happen!

What are the operating hours?

We have the pleasure of being able to start a corporate meeting nice and early in the morning as well as end a dance party as late as 2am!

What is the alcohol policy?

The Carrisa is proud to operate in partnership with SLO Brew and Rod & Hammer SLO Stills. We offer bar tabs as part of every booking and take care of stocking and staffing our beautiful bar for your event. Inquire through the Contact Us link to learn more.

Am I required to have an event coordinator?

For any event over 50 people and a wedding of any size, we do require an event planner.

Do I need to rent furniture?

Yes, The Carrisa does not own any furniture and it is our client’s responsibility to procure all furniture needs for their event. The massive bar and banquet seating along the wall are the two things that will remain.

Can I bring in my own decorations?

Yes please! Your selected vendors and set up need to be approved by our venue manager. Please visit theweddingstandard.com for our list of preferred vendors.

Where do guests park? Is there a parking fee?

Given the central location in Downtown SLO, there is no on-site parking available. There are metered spaces and garages nearby. We suggest everyone rideshare!

Is there security required for the event?

We require and provide “door hosts” for all late night events. Based on the needs/timing/guest count of your event, the venue manager will determine what will be best to secure the property for your party.

Do you have an area for the caterer?

We sure do! We have a massive restaurant kitchen ready to be fired up!

Do you offer Audio/Visual equipment and services?

We have an Entertainment Director available to assist with pricing and custom production packages to meet all your AV needs.
